What’s Treated

OVERVIEW OF PRACTICE

I am a General and Addiction Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist on East 44th street and 5th avenue in Midtown New York City near Grand Central Station. I provide medication management, but I also practice talk therapy and holistic modalities such as customized meditation, visualization exercises and complementary medicines. I practice a variety of psychotherapies such as psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and family and couples therapy. I provide specialty injectable medications such as vivitrol and sublocade for addiction patients. I am a suboxone provider as well. I am also the medical director of addiction services at St. Josephs Hospital.

Here you receive a well-rounded understanding of your issues. You can also review the treatment you have received for a second opinion in the past to see if you were mis-diagnosed or mis-prescribed. Addiction treatment, Family and Couples therapy are included when it applies to your specific treatment plan.

Our initial session (75-90 minutes) allows us the time to talk about what’s happening now as well as certain issues in the past. We tie in issues at work, relationships and with family and its impact on your life. The full follow up (45-50 min session) allows for a deep conversation where we dive into medication management, psychotherapy and meditation practices. The half session is 30 minutes. I have appointments over video chat as well which are confidential and hipaa encrypted.

I speak with all potential patients over the phone before confirming the session. A phone conversation is required before appointment confirmation. When calling 877-376-4560 (new patient line) my assistant will ask some basic questions so I can better assist you. This is is an hipaa encrypted confidential phone call. I am happy to answer your questions regardless of whether you follow up with me. Spanish and Bengali speakers are welcome.

WHAT’S TREATED

You don’t have to be mentally ill to see a psychiatrist or psychotherapist. I provide objective feedback. I see things from your perspective and can help you make a decision based on what is most important to you. I counsel people and help them see the difference between their adaptive vs. maladaptive behaviors so they can resolve their issues, become their own therapist and move on with their lives. This can range from dealing with basic lifestyle issues that impact health and happiness, to treating deeper trauma, loss and other deep-rooted psychological issues. We will identify the source of your issues and use proven strategies to overcome them in efficient ways. I treat a variety of issues such as the following:
